Very evocative, enjoyed it very much. I recall attending a Sunday Church Parade in the 1960s at a Summer Camp where a ‘trench organ’ was used. The comments reminded me of an observation in “The Bickersteth Diaries’ where Julian noted, “”Sunday evening services with hearty singing will always attract men who are not usually church goers.”

What a great episode and what a really engaging speaker Beverley is. It’s true as you both spoke about that veterans only chat about the funnier things which happen, it’s exactly the same at my ships Falklands reunions too!

What a fantastic sound. Would love to hear these instruments played in the upper room of Talbot House. I think it would be too moving though!

Very enjoyable episode. It would be nice to see Beverley perform sometime. Even the legendary south coast junk shop got a mention!
