Paul Reed – Military Historian

I grew up in Sussex and first travelled to the Great War battlefields with my school in 1982. That summer I walked the Somme with my father, a WW2 veteran, and I have been travelling back along the Old Front Line ever since. For many years I lived on the Somme, in the village of Courcelette, and for the past 30-odd years I have worked as a Battlefield Guide for Leger Holidays.

I’ve written a number of books about WW1 including the best-selling Walking the Somme and Great War Lives. I also work in Television and have worked on and appeared in numerous programmes including BBC Timewatch, Meet The Ancestors, War Hero in My Family and Who Do You Think You Are.
