Gunner Officer: Malcolm Vyvyan

We return to the memories of WW1 veteran Malcolm Vyvyan MC, who served with 96th Siege Battery Royal Garrison Artillery on the Western Front from 1916, and then latterly the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force. We follow him from the Somme to Arras, until he leaves his Battery for flying training in 1918.

  1. Thanks for a fascinating account of this man’s service. Is a history of the 96th Siege Battery available? It’s not on N &MP. I note that you posted a link to it on the Great War Forum 17 years ago.

    • It was privately published for officers only and it hasn’t been republished to my knowledge. I believe it was only sold to a handful of people!

  2. One was published but it has never been republished as far as I am aware. I’ve only ever seen one copy come up for sale as I believe it was for officers only!
