WW1 Podcast with Paul Reed
On 30th June 1916 the 11th, 12th and 13th (Southdowns) Battalions of the Royal Sussex Regiment made an attack on the German positions near The Boar’s Head at Richebourg. With so many losses it became known by the veterans as ‘The Day Sussex Died’. But a previous battle had been fought here by men from Sussex and in this film we look at both actions as well as some objects that connect us to the story of 1916.

Podcast Episode About Richebourg:
Thanks for an excellent vlog Paul. You took us down the Cinder Path in the 2005 90th anniversary tour. In July this year Tim took us to the Indian cemetery at Neuve Chappelle. I had no idea that it was so close to Richbourg. Is Aubers Ridge day still commemorated in Sussex?

I think in Wadhurst but not the parade they once used to have in Eastbourne and Bexhill.
