Hi,
If any listeners are interested in learning more about this aspect of the Great War, a book by Robert Sackville-West, “The Searchers: The Quest for the Lost of the First World War” is well worth a read as it covers a number of different aspects of the missing and the efforts made to find them.
regards,
Stuart Price

Great Q and A and I’m pleased that the Somme battlefield was not disturbed by the building of the second airport. I remember you mentioning this on the Walking the Somme tour 2002!

Another great Q&A Paul, one small observation is that I really like the names removed at Thiepval, I get the school parties I guide to look for them and reflect on what their being found could mean to the families, I wish the CWGC would do the same at all other memorials to the missing.
